Cranberry Bean Seeds

Cranberry Bean. An apparent New World plant that made its way to Europe and became a favorite in Italy by the name of Borlotti.  This is typically a bush variety primarily used as a shelled dry bean but immature beans can be eaten fresh. Cranberry beans tend to lose their beautiful color when cooked. These beans were grown in my “wild garden” that’s located on an organic farm under mostly drought conditions in 2023 so probably individual plants that had more drought tolerance germinated and produced beans. I can’t call these “organic” because they are not on the farmer’s crop manifest that was turned in for certification but I can call them “chemically free.” 50 seeds (+ 10%). $2.98/packet (sales tax included).  New: Dec. 2024 germination test: at least 92% to probably 98%
